Tuli Kupferberg: R.I.P.
Tuli started the Fugs when he was 44 years old AND he jumped off the bridge, only to survive.
Here he speaks quite knowledgeably about the CIA, and he is doing it in 1965.

Fordham Road Sears Store
In the early eighties, Salt, Pepa, Kid, Play, Martin Lawrence and Hurby Luv Bug all worked on the phone banks here at the Fordham Road Sears Store.

Salt N Pepa's original hit, an answer to the Doug E. Fresh/Slick Rick song The Show, was The Showstopper . It was played on the Saturday night show out of Medgar Evers College radio, where I first heard it.

Shirley MacLaine, Alan Watts, and Adlai Stevenson
In 1966, Alan Watts and Shirley MacLaine had a discussion for Redbook Magazine, and it was taped and pressed. Here they speak about marriage.

On the other side of the LP, there is a discussion with former presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson, this time for McCalls Magazine. Here, Stevenson speaks of his mother.

Everybody Knew ... but me
Jad Fair's record Everybody Knew...but me
g.a.e.t. stands for Garret's Acute Eavesdropping Toxemia, which is a variation on a theme in Kobo Abe's Secret Rendezvous. It is a fictional blood poisoning disease that comes from reading your lover's diaries or eavesdropping on your children's phone calls. Cuckoldry is a fomite in said disorder.

Peace in Your Heart recorded by Charles Manson in Vacaville, California
